Lauren Siino’s passion for dance began as a young girl. Born and raised in San Diego, California she was enrolled in the California Ballet School at age four. For 12 years she studied and trained in the classical Ballet style and Jazz. While enrolled at California Ballet she performed in annual productions to include California Ballet’s version of The Nutcracker, Cinderella, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Coppelia, California Ballet School concerts, Swan Lake and Alice in Wonderland.
After taking two years off from the dance community, Lauren rekindled her passion for dance in college, where she was exposed to various other dance styles. At Grossmont College Lauren discovered her passion for Hip Hop, while continuing to study Ballet and Jazz. She enrolled in the Academy of Performing Arts Studio where she regularly attended Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop classes for another two years. In 2005 Lauren was introduced to Culture Shock Dance Center in San Diego.
Earning a full scholarship to the studio only escalated her passion for Hip Hop, and her drive to learn earned her a spot on the staff teaching and subbing classes in Cardio Hip Hop, Beginning and Intermediate Hip Hop, Jazz, and Ballet. Lauren has performed in Culture Shock’s Cabaret Show in both 2006 and 2007. In late 2006, Lauren joined the elite dance ensemble Unity 2, where she trained rigorously in a style, created by Tessandra Chavez and directed by Taura Hall, fusing Jazz, Hip Hop, and Modern technique.
Today Lauren continues to dance, direct, and teach for Culture Shock Dance Center San Diego, Dance & Company, and North
County Dance Arts. In her professional career, Lauren has been afforded the opportunity to dance in the movie “Boogietown”, written and directed by Chris Stokes, dance for the Kel Mitchell after show at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles after an L.A. Galaxy Soccer game, dance for Rob Grimes at the 2009 T.I. concert in San Diego, and perform live at the Christian Music Awards with DarkIvey.
